Year-end Giving

YEAR-END GIVING 2026

Help make the journey to cancer care possible.

Stand with people facing cancer in Loreto and rural Baja California Sur. Your gift strengthens awareness, education and access to care through community partnerships.

BCO raises funds and makes grants to partners. Our partners provide local services; BCO does not provide direct patient care.

Getting care means leaving home. Local partners help people navigate the practical and emotional challenges, while awareness and education strengthen the community.

Travel to care: Getting there is part of getting care.

For people in rural Baja California Sur, biopsies and cancer treatment can require travel to La Paz or farther. Partner-delivered assistance helps with the costs of reaching care, including transportation, lodging and meals during a treatment journey.

Onco Loreto provides travel assistance. BCO’s new partner, Mulege Community Alliance, is expanding health clinics and cancer travel support in Mulege.

Practical and emotional support: Help along the way.

A cancer diagnosis reaches beyond treatment. Through Onco Loreto, people facing cancer and their families can receive practical comfort and emotional support along the way, including emotional and psychological support, nutrition consultations and Comfort Care Kits.

Onco Loreto supports women, men and children in the Loreto community. BCO helps strengthen that work through grants and collaboration.

Awareness and education: Knowledge to share.

BCO supports awareness and education through community collaboration. Projects such as Tómate 5 share breast awareness information where women gather in Loreto and surrounding communities. BCO and Onco Loreto collaborate to help this information reach community gathering places, including schools and salons.

Partnership is how support reaches people.

BCO raises funds, makes grants and collaborates. Our partners bring local relationships and deliver services in their communities.

Onco Loreto

Founded by Maria Elena Posadas, Onco Loreto provides practical and emotional support for people facing cancer in Loreto, including travel assistance to reach care beyond the community.

Mulege Community Alliance

BCO has issued a grant to Mulege Community Alliance, a U.S. nonprofit expanding health clinics and cancer travel support in Mulege, Baja California Sur. We see this partnership as a way to expand access to cancer care through out rural Baja Sur, one community at a time. The BCO and Onco Loreto model has proven successful and we want to duplicate this model in the surrounding communities. Disparity of cancer care doesn’t stop at one city’s boundary.
